Manager, M4D, GSMA Innovation Fund (French Speaking) at GSM Association (GSMA)

About the Role 
 
This is a French Speaking Role; as a Manager in the GSMA Innovation Fund Team, you will be managing the full life cycle and delivery of a portfolio of grant projects. This will include and not limited to: 

• Providing technical assistance to grantees.
• Partnering with the senior managers for key reporting activities (monthly and quarterly SocioEconomic KPI reporting).
• Coordinating regular meetings with grantees.
• Support grant applicants, due diligence, selection processes, management of Innovation Fund panel for selection of grants and periodic follow-ups.
• Supports projects (including running workshops) which provide hands-on support to selected operators that are willing to serve as innovation partners. 

 
You will identify strategic opportunities with our network operators to strengthen their position within the innovation ecosystem, and develop initiatives core to the programme’s objectives by building and managing relationships with local incubators, techubs and more across all regions, with an emphasis on Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. 
 
You will have opportunities to present at GSMA or external events to disseminate resources and insights as well as within the wider Mobile for Development team, advocacy and regional leadership team. Throughout, the work you do will contribute to shaping the overall strategic direction of the GSMA Innovation fund to help ensure our goal of creating more successful, scalable and sustainable innovative Mobile for Development products and services is achieved.

About You 

 
This is a hands-on role French Speaking role, with successful candidates required to be self-motivated and able to work effectively with a dispersed team. 
 
The ideal candidate will display the following qualities:

• Fluency in French and English is essential
• You will have A proven track record of managing complex projects, with multiple stakeholders’ engagements, and within predefined budgets and timelines.
• You will have experience in successfully managing innovation fund grantees across emerging countries.   You will have experience dealing with a variety of external stakeholders within the innovation ecosystem players including MNOs.
• You will have strong interpersonal skills, and a very collaborative approach to working with other teams across the M4D.
• You have the ability to think creatively of solutions to new challenges or a changing environment.
• You have a passion for the work we do at M4D and the impact we are having on local societies and economies
