    Manager, Safety Audits and Inspection

    REF  NTSA/05/2023/13

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Preparing reports on Road Safety Audits, Road Safety inspections , Road Safety Impact Assessment, Accident Investigations etc
    • Preparing progress reports and monitoring the implementation of design standards and guidelines
    • Working with consultants on road safety issues and preparing progress reports on consultancies
    • Preparing Proposals for funding by development partners
    • Monitoring road agencies on road safety compliance on audits of road safety and network safety performance
    • Monitor implementation of Black spot programme by other agencies
    • Analyzing staff performance and career progression and making appropriate recommendations, 
    • analyzing the utilization of the human resource in the Department and advising on proper transfers; and 
    • Ensuring correct interpretation and implementation of policies, rules and regulations, supervising junior officers and managing the duty stations.

    Key Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution; 
    • Master’s degree in any of the above disciplines from a recognized institution will be an added advantage;
    • At least ten (10) years relevant work experience, three (3) of which must have been at a middle management position in a large organization;
    • Attended Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
    • Demonstrated a high degree of professional competence, administrative capabilities and initiative in the general organization and management of Road Safety and a thorough understanding of the Authority’s policies;
    • A registered engineer with the engineering board; and 
    • Proficiency in ICT.
