Manager, Statistical Programming at IQVIA

Summary of Opportunity

• Provide management, leadership, and training for the Statistical Programming group. Manage staffing of projects and coordinate task assignments with other IQVIA Biotech departments and external vendors.

Essential Responsibilities

Line Management:

• Assume line management responsibility for Statistical Programming staff, conducting performance reviews and regularly reviewing objectives. Developing and reviewing development plans
• Ensure corporate and departmental training is delivered effectively
• Provide leadership, mentoring and programming support

Department administration:

• Assign statistical programming leads and additional resources to projects, coordinate project tasks and resources across the Statistical Programming group
• Oversee activities such as department meetings, SAS software releases, organizational structure, SOP training and timesheet review
• Review project budgets and staffing projections for Statistical Programming activities, and actively participate in recruitment
• Review the Statistical Programming section of proposal budgets
• Make presentations to clients and other stakeholders about the processes of the Clinical Reporting department
• Define and maintain departmental standards, SOPs and working practices
• Develop and facilitate work flow for Clinical Reporting and for other departments within Data Operations.  Implement generic code to increase efficiency and quality

Minimum Qualifications, knowledge, abilities and experience

• Master's Degree in Computer science or related field plus 4 years relevant SAS programming experience or BSc in a quantitative or related field with a minimum of 5 years of work experience in SAS programming
• Experience with SAS Base, SAS Stat, SAS Macro, SAS Graph, and ODS as well as strong data step skills
• Minimum of one years experience in a line management role
• 3 years work experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and/or clinical research service industry
• Demonstrated ability to select, lead and motivate technical staff
• Demonstrated ability to supervise resources, plan long-range tasks and conduct training sessions
• Knowledge of programming and validation methods, and software development life cycle.
• Manage software releases and report issues to SAS
• Plan long-range needs while managing daily details
• Work effectively, cooperatively and independently
• Excellent organizational and program documentation skills
