Mechanical Engineer (Plant) at Bomet County

J/G CPSB 08 (V/NO: 11)

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintaining a comprehensive preventive maintenance schedule for plant(s).
2. Allocating duties and supervising both machinery and fleet maintenance teams;
3. Diagnosing faults and ensuring timely repairs of the county machinery, equipment and its fleet of vehicles;
4. Requisitioning and verifying of quality spares ordered both for machinery and fleet maintenance;
5. Writing technical reports on plant and fleet maintenance;
6. Timely scheduling of statutory maintenance and repairs of county plant (s)
7. Installation and commissioning of new machinery

Requirements and Competencies for Appointment:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical (Plant/Automobile option) from an Institution recognized in Kenya;
2. Must be a registered Graduate Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya;
3. A minimum of three (3) years engineers experience,
4. Experience on vehicles repairs and vehicle body construction and mechanical inspection
5. Knowledge on road vehicle standards;
6. Experience on vehicles diagnostic equipment;
7. Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results;
8. Knowledge in computer skills
9. Conversant with the constitution of Kenya 2010 and devolution
10. Compliance with chapter six of the constitution of Kenya
11. Qualification in relevant computer course.
12. Compliance with chapter six of the constitution of Kenya

Terms: Permanent and Pensionable.
