Mechanical Technician at Cosmos Limited

Job Summary

• The Mechanical technician will perform planned and reactive mechanical maintenance work and trouble shoot all issues relating to mechanical systems, to ensure maximum up time of machines, equipment and utilities.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance and repair

• Responsible for keeping plant's equipment and Machinery in good working condition. This includes troubleshooting diagnosing issues and developing maintenance and repair plans.

Safety and regulatory Compliance

• Ensure that maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and standards.

Design and Implementation

• Design and implement equipment modifications and investigate and test ideas to improve existing systems Installation
• Install and test machinery and install new gaskets, pressure gauges, and valves.

Process Optimization

• Mechanical Engineers analyze and improve existing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs and increase overall productivity

Skills and Attributes

• Detail oriented; pay attention to detail when installing or repairing equipment and get jobs done right the first time
• Time Management; ability to keep to a schedule and complete all necessary repairs or tasks
• Trouble shooting skills: must be able to identify problems quickly
• Computer Literacy i.e. Ms. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access etc

Qualifications

• Certificate in air conditioning or refrigeration or related field
• Minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent.
• Minimum 6 Years experience in a Manufacturing Plant
• Thorough knowledge of mechanical tools, equipment, materials and practices
