Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum experience of 3 years in a similar role.
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical system maintenance.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals.
• Proficiency with hand tools.
• Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g., constant use of protective gear).
• Certificate of good conduct.
• Basic computer literacy.

DESCRIPTION OF ROLE

• Assists in ensuring all Machinery and Equipment in the Plant and other Proto Energy Installations are well-engineered, constructed, monitored, maintained and operated to international best standards, while providing the highest uptime standards to meet Production SLAs. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

• Service and refurbish standby spares and equipment, and ensure they are ready for utilization.
• Spearhead critical preventive schedules as assigned on SAP.
• Carry out improvement activities within the plant as directed by engineers.
• Suggest the replacement of parts and recommend installation of new equipment and modifications.
• Liaise with engineers and stores to ensure optimal stock levels of spare parts.
• Suggest and carry out performance improvement modifications.
• Assist the supervisor in overseeing the operations of maintenance section and the management of the team.
• Perform any other duty(ies) as will be assigned from time to time by the supervisor or management.
