    Member of the Council

    A person shall be qualified for appointment as chairperson or member of the Council if that person-

    • is a citizen of Kenya:
    • holds a degree from a university recognized in Kenya;
    • has knowledge and experience of at least ten years, in the case of the chairperson, or seven years, in the case of a member, in matters relating to any of the following fields-law; journalism; finance; gender and human rights; performing arts; advertising; public relations; religious studies; communication; humanities and social sciences; or information technology:
    •  meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution; and
    •  has had a distinguished career in their respective fields.

    Method of Application

    • All applications (manual and online) shall be accompanied by detailed curriculum vitae, copies of relevant academic and professional certificates, testimonials, telephone number and email.
    • A copy of the National Identity Card shall be appended.
    • All applications shall be clearly marked, "Application for position of Chairperson or Member of the Media Council of Kenya" and submitted in any ONE of the following ways: 
    • Manual applications should be hand delivered to the General Registry on 9th Floor, Teleposta Towers, off Koinange Street
    • Online applications should be emailed to moictjobs@information.go.ke .Applications through the post office should be addressed to:
