Nursing Officer-In-Charge (Sterilization) at Tenwek Hospital

Job Purpose: 

• To coordinate the nursing services within the Sterilization department, in order that the patient/client receives quality care for the honor and glory of God.

Duties and Responsibility:

• Organize and coordinate nursing care and medical treatments
• Manage and maintain the unit effectively according to hospital policy with minimum supervision
• Manage ward personnel (staff and students) by promoting effective interpersonal and public relations
• Maintain infection prevention guidelines and practice.
• Ensure safety in the work place by maintaining a clean, safe, and pleasant environment
• Maintain familiarity with the legal implications of nursing practice and ensure that legal requirements are met.
• Identify research topics, construct a research plan, and carry out surveys at the operational level.
• To be punctual and available when on duty.
• Display Christ like attitude and character both on and off duty
• Abide by the Tenwek Hospital moral code and Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) regulations.
• Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
• Work with the Head of Units and In-charges in ensuring that staff in their area of jurisdiction displays Christ like attitude and character both on and off duty.
• Work with the Head of Units and In-charges in ensuring that staff abide by the Tenwek Hospital moral code, Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) regulations and the employment act.
• Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Nursing (KRN/KRCHN), BScN.
• Atleast 2 years experience in Theatre setting,with Valid preactice Licence, Registered by NCK.
