Operations Specialist - Vehicles at Bolt

About the role:

• You will play a key role in expanding our vehicle supply, building relationships with vehicle owners and fleet partners, and improving the processes that help them succeed on our platform.
• This role combines data analysis, partner engagement, and hands-on execution. You will use insights to identify opportunities and solve problems, while also getting involved in the day-to-day work needed to deliver results.
• Reporting to the Country Operations Manager, you will work closely with local, regional, and HQ teams to achieve supply growth, quality, and operational targets.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Grow vehicle supply: Identify and engage prospective vehicle owners and fleet partners, communicate Bolt’s value proposition, and secure their commitment to add vehicles to the platform.
• Manage the vehicle lifecycle: Oversee vehicle acquisition, onboarding, activation, and ongoing compliance, resolving issues that prevent vehicles from becoming or remaining operational.
• Build and manage partnerships: Develop strong relationships with fleet partners and other stakeholders, understand their needs, manage expectations, and coordinate solutions.
• Analyse performance: Monitor vehicle supply, utilisation, quality, and city-level performance. Identify trends and root causes, and translate findings into practical actions.
• Develop and execute supply strategies: Create plans to address supply gaps, improve vehicle productivity, and support sustainable growth across Kenyan cities.
• Improve operational processes: Identify inefficiencies, simplify workflows, and implement scalable solutions, taking ownership of manual tasks where needed to keep operations moving.
• Champion the customer experience: Use feedback from driver partners, fleet partners, and riders to guide improvements, working across teams to resolve recurring issues.

About You:

• You have proven experience in operations, startups, consulting, or a similar environment, with a strong analytical component.
• You are an excellent data analyst, with strong Excel or Google Sheets skills and the ability to turn complex data into clear insights and recommendations.
• You are willing to roll up your sleeves and handle practical, manual work—from resolving onboarding issues to supporting partners on the ground.
• You have strong stakeholder engagement and management skills, with the ability to build trust, manage competing priorities, and secure buy-in.
• You are confident in sales, pitching, and negotiation, and can persuade vehicle owners and fleet partners to grow their presence on the platform.
• You are a team player who shares knowledge, supports colleagues, and takes responsibility for collective results.
• You communicate clearly and professionally in English & Swahili, both verbally and in writing.
• You are customer-obsessed, with genuine care for our driver partners, fleet partners, and riders. You listen closely, understand their challenges, and follow through on solutions.
• You take ownership, solve problems creatively, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• You have experience launching products or services, running a business, or managing operational projects.
