    Ophthalmic Nurse/Ophthalmic Clinical Officer - Kisii

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide guidance and training to data collectors, including on-the-job training and coaching
    • Ensure the quality of data collection by monitoring field processes, providing feedback, and verifying data accuracy
    • Ensure that ethical guidelines, research protocols, and other relevant standards are followed throughout the data collection process
    • Support data collectors with logistical matters, including arranging participant interviews and managing resources
    • Address and resolve minor issues that arise during data collection
    • Maintain communication with the principal investigator and study coordinator, and provide regular updates on the project's progress
    • Maintain detailed records of field activities and collected data.

    Vacancy Requirements:

    • Diploma in nursing or clinical medicine and surgery    Mandatory
    • A higher diploma in ophthalmology will be an added advantage    Added Advantage
    • Proficiency in computer applications    Mandatory
    • Experience in randomized controlled trials    Mandatory
    • Experience in coordinating a community eye health programme or clinical research    Mandatory
    • Knowledge of research ethics and good clinical practice    Mandatory
    • Willingness to live in Kisii County and travel extensively within the area    Mandatory
    • Knowledge of REDCap /smartphone-based data collection apps    Mandatory
