    PBDM (Platform Business Development Manager) - Global Platform Sales

    Job Description:

    A PBDM will engage and build relationships with a wide range of regional agricultural and food/beverage suppliers mainly in the long-tail products for Tridge’s Marketplace business. The main target audiences include but are not limited to suppliers & exporters, manufacturers, distributors, processors, associations, government officials and wholesale market representatives existing in the value chain. The PBDM will be responsible for presenting our digital advertising solutions, particularly for enterprise accounts, as well as acquiring and converting suppliers into paid users on our marketplace. Upon acquisition, a PBDM, with the support of our customer success team, will ensure the suppliers’ content is presentable to potential buyers and support the onboarding process of new suppliers. In addition, the PBDM will qualify any sales opportunities for our Market Intelligence solution and play a pivotal role in the overall sales cycle for the global intelligence sales team.

    PBDMs will directly report to the HQ Intelligence & Solutions team to deliver the growth through supplier acquisition and managing these accounts through a consultative approach.

    We are looking for applicants with experience and network in the local agri industry, who have the fundamental understanding of a platform/advertisement businesses to quickly identify business opportunities for the various solutions that Tridge provides. Furthermore, the PBDM must have the ability to plan logically and execute with persistence.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Spearhead business development and sales activities for select countries and product categories within the processed food sector (long-tail)
    • Acquire local suppliers & exporters and onboard them onto the Tridge marketplace (B2B online platform) and promote the value-propositions such as premium supplier profiles, SEO concept, marketing campaigns, and advertisements.
    • Manage suppliers accounts that are registered within the platform through a data-driven consultative approach
    • Ensure the quality of the content of suppliers are accurate and in excellent condition to be presented to potential buyers
    • Achieve monthly sales target of enterprise seller plans and premium supplier plans to be acquired
    • Develop leads, with a scalable approach (government entities, associations, etc.) and at an individual supplier level, in order to actively convert them into paid (Enterprise Seller Plan/Premium Supplier Plan) accounts for our online B2B marketplace
    • Identify and qualify new intelligence sales opportunities and schedule demos for Enterprise Engagement Managers (Account Executives)
    • Effectively partner and work across all internal teams to learn how Tridge works from the ground up, eventually acting as the subject matter expert on Tridge's product offerings/solutions

    Preferred backgrounds:

    • At least 3 years of experience in the local food and agriculture space (candidates with connections & network with the local wholesale markets covering processed food categories preferred)
    • Prior experience in business development, sales or account management.
    • Passion for communicating, negotiating, and developing close relationships with people, including ability to directly engage with executives and key decision makers in large enterprises
    • Excellent communication (including in local language), interpersonal, and organisational skills. You should be a great writer, speaker, and listener, including spoken and written English skill of business level or higher.
    • Strong self-motivation and willingness to learn and deal with new industries
    • Fearlessness - willing to hop on the phone with new people every single day and explain Tridge's value proposition as it relates to each individual you speak with.
    • An obsession with prospect happiness - set the stage for effective sales follow-up.

    • Familiarity with SaaS Sales and agri-food/business intelligence platform sales also considered.
