    Policy Review Research Consultancy

    Job Description

    Policy Review Research Consultancy - (200004VL)

    Over the last four years, the country structures of Save the Children and IOM along with implementing partners have been operating the country level initiatives in selected key intervention sites within six countries namely; eSwatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, and Zambia,  particularly along known migration corridors. A number of key activities have been implemented at local level including awareness raising among target groups and mobilization of traditional, religious and community structures for influencing harmful traditional, religious gender norms and attitudes through the deployment of trained community Change Agents.

     

    At the same time the project works to create platforms for dialogue in addressing the structural barriers to improved service provision through mobilizing traditional and religious leaders as well as local, national and regional stakeholders. In the process of program implementation and facilitating inter country collaboration it became evident that there are policy gaps and lack of coherence, cross border continuity of care, harmonized international referrals.

    The purpose of the project is to conduct a policy framework review of the SRHR HIV and migration in the SADC region.

    Consultant Specification

    The consultant/team is expected to fulfill the following specifications:

    • Extensive experience in health policy, global regional and national health services management and health programming
    • Experience working with regional economic community, specifically SADC, SADC member states, Southern Africa national governments the UN and international NGOs in the humanitarian and development context
    • Tangible reference of previous similar assignments
    • Demonstrated technical capacity, policy analysis, policy review, policy briefs production
    • Fluency in written and spoken English
    • Excellent computer, drafting and editing skills Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
    • Previous knowledge and experience in the field of sexual and reproductive health, migration and advocacy, is highly recommended
