Private Family Cook at Private Residence

We are looking for a live-in trained and experienced female Private Family Cook to join a high-end household in Runda, Nairobi.

This role goes beyond cooking. The successful candidate will be responsible for full kitchen management, including meal planning, food preparation, organization, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and efficiency.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate must be versatile, creative, and able to prepare a variety of meals for both adults and young children. The role requires consistency, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a structured home environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Daily meal preparation (breakfast, lunch, dinner).
• Planning balanced, varied, and creative menus.
• Preparing healthy, engaging meals for toddlers and children.
• Ability to cook both local and international cuisines.
• Full kitchen management: cleanliness, organization, and maintenance.
• Pantry and food inventory management (tracking stock and reporting shortages).
• Proper food storage and minimizing waste.
• Preparing meals for both small family settings and larger gatherings when required

Requirements:

• Formal culinary training or certification (required).
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience as a private cook or in a professional kitchen.
• Must have a valid certificate of good conduct.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to prepare both local and international cuisines.
• Creativity in meal preparation, especially for children.
• Ability to plan menus independently and manage a kitchen efficiently.
• High standards of cleanliness and organization.
• Responsible, disciplined, and able to follow structured routines
