    Procurement & Logistics Assistant - Temporary

    Reporting to the Procurement and Logistics Manager, The Procurement & Logistics Assistant is a strategic role in the supplychain for MSK. This role requires an astute and highly dependable individual who will oversee the entire supply chain, from orders placed by the Procurement Department and warehousing to delivering materials to centres, commercial sales and outreach teams. The Logistics locum will also be responsible forprocessingdistribution requests, maintaining inventory, coordinating transport, maintaining databases and accurate records, managing inventory risks, maintaining positive supplier relations, managing supplier performance, management and disposal of obsolete items.

    Key Responsibilities

    Coordinate and Track Shipments

    Once warehouse order requests or purchase orders are issued, it is up to Logistics Locum to manage the pulling and packing of materials and arrange appropriate transportation. Among the tasks that might need to be completed in this responsibility include freight consolidation, routing, and scheduling. LogisticLocum must also track shipments to ensure they arrive on time and that shipment and delivery processes adhere to any pertinent regulations and MSK policies.

    Manage Warehouse

    The Logistics Officer is typically responsible for the storage of materials that are to be used by the field staff, commercial sales, marketing, and outreach teams. Warehouse management duties include maintaining inventory at both the central warehouse and Centers, ordering shipping materials, proactively informing management and field staff of any eminent risks such as stockouts and expiries, and managing the performance of the warehouse outsourced supplier and import/export clearing agents.

    Analyse Supply Chain Systems

    The Logistics Officer must ensure that all aspects of a logistics team, such as shipping, import/export, warehousing, and procurement, are working together to fill orders and deliver materials on a timely basis. You will review all processes and systems and design and implement new plans and procedures as needed. You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining contingency plans.

    Supplier Performance Management

    The Logistics Officer will manage the performance of the outsourced warehouse service provider and track their performance against contracted Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensure that quarterly and monthly performance meetings are held in a timely manner and any actions agreed in those meetings are followed up to conclusion. The logistics officer will also be expected to track the performance of local medical suppliers (Quality and Timely Delivery) on a monthly basis and provide feedback to the procurement staff members for decisionmaking purposes.

    Records Management

    The Logistics Officer will manage and maintain all the accurate records that appertain to stock movements which are not limited to but include stock cards, inventory stock levels both at central warehouse and centers, goods received notes, goods dispatch notes, and shall provide regular stock movement reports preferably monthly for both purchased goods and donations to be used for updating management and donors.

    Qualifications:

    • Degree in Procurement and Logistics, Business Administration or a similar field preferred
    • Minimum of one year experience in a busy Procurement & Logistics set up.
