    Program Officer, HIV/TB Care and Treatment

    The Position The Program Officer, HIV/TB Care and Treatment will oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the HIV care and treatment program across Kajiado County. The successful candidate will work under the Care and Treatment Advisor and will be based in Kajiado County. He or she will collaborate with partners, health facilities, and program staff to ensure the effective delivery of HIV prevention, care, and treatment interventions, with a focus on achieving the 95- 95-95 targets. This role requires a candidate with strong technical expertise in HIV programming, clinical mentorship, and stakeholder engagement.

    Job Description

    • Oversee the county's implementation and monitoring of the 95–95–95 HIV cascade.
    • Work with partners and HCWs to ensure HIV prevention, care, and treatment workplans align to the program goals and objectives.
    • Implement innovative approaches to HIV care, including the integration of HIV services into (MNCH) services, NCD, Family Planning (FP), and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) interventions.
    • Conduct regular site visits to health facilities to provide technical assistance in HIV prevention, care and prevention programs.
    • Provide clinical training and mentorship to healthcare workers on the management of HIV, including pediatric ART, tuberculosis, and other opportunistic infections, in line with the national guidelines.
    • Participate in HIV related meetings, including clinical case reviews and quality assurance sessions, while promoting continuing medical education for healthcare providers

    Job specifications

    • A minimum of diploma in either Clinical Medicine or Nursing
    • At least 7 years of experience in HIV care and treatment program implementation, with demonstrated experience in mentoring clinical teams.
    • Strong technical knowledge of HIV care and treatment guidelines, including PMTCT, ART, and TB/HIV co-infection management.
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and report-writing skills; ability to work independently and in a team environment; demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and innovative program delivery.
