    Program Officer

    Position Summary

    The Program Officer will play a crucial role in supporting various programs implemented by Teach For Kenya, with primary focus on initiatives such as "Let Girl Thrive," "Utopia," "Girl Rising," "ProFuturo," and the Capstone Project.  

    Position Summary The Program Officer will play a crucial role in supporting various programs implemented by Teach For Kenya, with primary focus on initiatives such as "Let Girl Thrive," "Utopia," "Girl Rising," "ProFuturo," and the Capstone Project.  

    Reporting directly to the Head of Training and Leadership Development, the incumbent will contribute to the successful execution and expansion of these programs, ensuring their alignment with organizational goals and objectives. To succeed in this role, he or she must be an excellent communicator, proactive, self-starter, excellent agile skills required in program management, savvy networker, resource connector, researcher, have excellent technical writing skills and interpersonal skills. 

    Key Responsibilities

    Program Coordination

    • Assist in the coordination and execution of program activities, including workshops, training sessions, and community outreach events.
    • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth implementation of program activities.
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of program activities, outcomes, and participant feedback.

    Participant Support

    • Provide support to program participants, including mentorship, guidance, and resources as needed.
    • Monitor participant progress and address any challenges or concerns that may arise during the program duration.
    • Facilitate communication and networking opportunities for program participants.

    Data Management and Analysis

    • Collect, compile, and analyze data related to program impact, participant demographics, and outcomes.
    • Prepare regular reports on program performance, highlighting key metrics, trends, and areas for improvement. 
    • Utilize data insights to inform program development and decision-making processes. 

    Resource Development

    • Contribute to the development of program materials, resources, and curriculum in collaboration with program leads and content experts.
    • Research best practices and innovative approaches to program implementation and incorporate them into program design as appropriate. .

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Cultivate strong relationships with program stakeholders, including schools, communities, government agencies, and non-profit organizations.
    • Represent Teach for Kenya at external meetings, conferences, and events related to program areas.
    • Identify opportunities for partnership and collaboration to enhance program impact and sustainability.

    Project Delivery Excellence:

    • Develop and mentor project leads to lead the delivery of projects as per project scope, goals and deliverables that support TFK goals in collaboration with the HOT.
    • Direct appropriate processes, leadership, and strategy to ensure the quality of projects and initiatives to drive program value to project owners and stakeholders.
    • Streamline and optimize the internal processes to maximize on partner engagement and project team productivity.
    • Enhance the visibility of the project status and achievements.

    • 100% Successful completion of projects within the set schedule & budget

    • 100% creation and maintenance of project archives. i.e. ease of retrieval and excellent document management including program-based testimonial gathered from proactive stakeholder management and responsiveness on project matters
    • 100% compliance on reports (weekly/monthly 

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Education, Social Sciences, International Development, or a related field.
    • Strong understanding of issues related to girls' education, youth empowerment, and community development.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using tools such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
    • Extensive experience in Technical Project Management or a similar leadership role.
    • Excellent project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering projects.
    • Commitment to Teach for Kenya's mission and values.
