    Programme Officer (EARC)

    Contract: Full time. FTC 2 years

    Salary: Competitive, local terms and conditions will apply

    Sightsavers has an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Programme Officer within Education Assessment and Resource Centres (EARC) to join our Kenya Country Office. You will be responsible for overall project delivery, liaising with internal and external partners and the programmes finance and resource management.

    As Programme Officer, you will manage the daily activities and execution of the DfID funded Disability Inclusive Development EARC project. You will ensure that the programme is planned, implemented, coordinated, monitored, evaluated financially managed and documented to the highest possible standards. You will work closely with internal and external partners and teams to build effective partnerships, promote shared learning and advocate Sightsavers work.

    This is a collaborative role working closely with and supporting programme and finance teams and you will utilise your knowledge of inclusive education as well your experience of implementing programmes.

    Qualifications and experience:

    • Proven experience and knowledge of inclusive education and programme implementation
    • A qualification in education, social sciences, development studies or public health, or equivalent experience
    • Familiarity with national legislation and policies in the field of disability, human rights and education.
    • Experience of designing, managing and carrying out advocacy work for social inclusion/disability programmes.
    • Experience providing technical assistance to other organizations
    • Knowledge of current issues and best practices in disability, UNCRPD, the country’s legislation and framework on education is desirable.
