Project Officer - Research Data Specialist at Catholic Relief

Job Responsibilities:

•  Support the Nawiri Research team and consultants in data collection.
•  Provide technical and administrative support to external consultants and research field teams for specific research activities.
•  Participate in research enumerator trainings.
•  Provide support to the Nawiri Research team and external consultants to organize trainings for enumerators.
•  Support the field research team in ensuring data q uality and ethical compliance.
•  Working in close collaboration with the CRS field team, Caritas and Tufts University in troubleshooting DDG software focal point when necessary.
•  Updating and maintaining all research records and data in CRS Gateway system.

Required/Desired Foreign Language: English and Kiswahili required (Ability to speak one or more of the local languages an asset)

Qualifications

Typical Background, Experience & Requirements:

Education and Experience

•  Masters degree with two years’ experience in large survey data management. A Bachelor’s degree with four years data management experience will also be considered.
•  Experience working with large nutrition data will be considered an asset.
•  Previous large quantitative survey management experience in a dryland area or ASAL county
•  Experience working multi-site research projects
•  Familiarity with Isiolo and Marsabit County an asset
•  Experience in MS Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio), Web Conferencing Applications, and information and budget management systems.
•  Experience working with multiple stakeholders- universities, international non-governmental organizations and faith-based organizations
•  Familiarity with tablet technology (Digital Data Gathering)
