Quality Assurance Technologist at Kenya Wine Agencies Limited (KWAL)

Introduction     

The job holder will be responsible for ensuring that products conform to the set standards and specification by carrying out the tests and reviewing the production process and the quality management system to ensure it meets requirements.
    
Specification     

• Analyze incoming ingredients/ consumables and finished products ready for packaging to confirm conformance to the set standards and requirements and make the necessary recommendations.
• Monitor daily production processes to assure that they conform to the set standards/specifications in order to uphold product quality and food quality standards.
• In the case of customer complaints, ensure that all non-conformities are verified, properly documented and witnesses disposal in a timely manner.
• Follow up to ensure all required reworks are done as recommended and the product quality standards and requirements are appropriately upheld.
• Responsible for validating and verifying equipment hygiene to ensure food safety.
• Responsible for the general maintenance and management of the laboratory including the lab equipment and consumables.
• Actively participate in the delivery of projects aimed at improving process efficiency and quality by carrying out tests and reviews.
• Record and prepare reports for tests carried out and maintain sample library.

Requirements     

• A diploma in Food Technology/ Analytical Chemistry/Biochemistry/Microbiology.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
• At least three (3) years’ experience as a technician or in product development, food manufacturing or quality control/assurance environment.
• Practical experience in use of MS packages and ERP systems.
