Job Purpose

The primary job purpose of a Records Management Officer (RMO) is to ensure that all records and documents within an organization are organized, accessible, and maintained according to legal and operational requirements. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer.

Job Specifications

Duties and responsibilities at this level entail:

• Ensuring security of files and documents;
• Sorting and classifying documents for filing;
• Updating and maintenance of personnel records and file indexes;
• Ensuring security of information and Records in a registry/archive;
• Receiving, sorting, opening, and dispatching related registers are maintenance;
• Planning appropriate office accommodation for registries;
• Ensuring that file movement records are updated and maintained;
• Ensuring receipt and proper dispatch of mails: and
• Digitizing Agency documents for circulation and archiving.

Person Specifications​​​​​​​

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -

• Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Information Science and Records Management, Records and Information Management, Library and Information Sciences, Business Information Technology, Information Studies or equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution;
• Proficiency in computer applications;
