    Research Associate II-Economist

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support the collection of household and agricultural/livestock data (e.g., program survey tools in SurveyCTO, ODK, or KoBo toolbox; recruit and assist in the training of data collection staff; organize survey logistics; monitor quality of incoming data in real-time).
    • Analyze data in Stata using econometric methods.
    • Conduct literature reviews and syntheses.
    • Assist in preparing large datasets for analysis and public access.
    • Assist in drafting reports and research papers.
    • Interact with collaborators and project partners.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    • Bachelors’ degree in Agricultural and Applied Economics or Development Economics or Applied Statistics.
    • A minimum of 5 years’ work experience in academia, a development-oriented research organization or comparable institution in the area of impact evaluation.
    • Knowledge of microeconomic theory and quantitative econometric methods.
    • Excellent knowledge and demonstrated experience in using STATA.
    • Demonstrated experience in coordinating data field surveys.
    • Demonstrated ability to perform in-depth statistical analysis and report the results.
    • Willingness and openness to learn.
    • Demonstrated fluency in written and spoken English.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented multi-cultural environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to multi-task as needed, consistently meet deadlines, and manage time well.
    • Demonstrated professional level of attention to detail and accuracy of work.
    • Ability to work independently and with initiative
    • A good understanding of impacts of climate change and variability on agricultural and livestock systems.
    • Knowledge and experience in developing dashboards in Tableau and Power BI.
    • Knowledge and experience in analysis of pictorial data.
