    Research Coordinator - Quantitative

    Key responsibilities of the position:

    • Overall coordination of the research project including development of workplans, management of research team, timely implementation, and reporting
    • Conceptualize, design, and implement quantitative research for this project in collaboration with the local and UoM research team.
    • Conduct literature reviews to contextualize the research goal and objectives.
    • Develop study tools, research protocols, and ethical approval documents for quantitative data collection.
    • Train quantitative researchers, including community researchers in quantitative methods for data collection, analyses, and interpretation.
    • Manage the quantitative research team including overseeing the data collection process, quality of data collected and troubleshooting where necessary
    • Analyze and interpret quantitative data and make critical observations, in close partnership with community researchers, PHDA and UoM research team.
    • Design and conduct regular meetings and workshops with the community to share findings and interpret the results
    • Design and conduct regular meeting with co-investigators to share progress of the project and findings when available
    • Develop and deliver professional presentations on research results.
    • Prepare research reports and manuscripts for publication in peer- reviewed journals.
    • Conduct community consultations to develop processes for data collection, and to validate and contextualize the results.
    • Translate research findings into programmatic recommendations to refine programme strategies.
    • Support the team in developing new research proposals.
    • Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

    Qualifications, Skills & Competencies:

    • Postgraduate degree in Statistics, Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, or a related quantitative field.
    • 7–10 years of experience in conducting quantitative research.
    • Strong knowledge of various quantitative research methods and study designs.
    • Experience handling field-based quantitative data collection and ensuring quality assurance.
    • Proficiency in statistical software such as SPSS, STATA, R, or SAS.
    • Strong analytical and research skills, including statistical analysis and data interpretation.
    • Excellent communication skills for presenting data to diverse stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Experience of managing research teams including community researchers
    • Experience conducting quantitative research with key populations, adolescent girls and young women and men is an added advantage.
    • Experience of conducting research embedded within a health programme is an added advantage.
    • Experience of working in collaboration with global teams is an added advantage
