    Scientific Coordinator

    Position Responsibilities

    • Coordinate research activities and ensure timely delivery of outputs among collaborators in Senegal, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia and any other countries involved with the African Modelling Network for Neglected Tropical Diseases (AM2NTD), the Africa Modelling and Analytics for Women (AMAX) programs, malaria modelling initiative, Consortium for Leadership for Epidemiological-Economic Analysis for Epidemic Response in Africa, among other initiatives at CEMA.
    • Support the management of research and modelling partnerships between institutions, ministries, and stakeholders
    • Support the dissemination of findings through publications, reports and presentations
    • Ensure effective communication and knowledge sharing across the networks that CEMA will be engaged in
    • Organize workshops, conferences, and capacity-strengthening initiatives including AMNTD and AMAX fellowships, and related modular training courses
    • Active involvement in the policy work related to the NTD control and elimination programs, Health Technology Assessments and other econometric analysis at CEMA

    Position Requirements

    • A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB), Bachelor of Pharmacy, Bachelor of Dental Surgery, Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery
    • A Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Data Science or Health Policy
    • Experience coordinating scientific networks in health and/or health research
    • Demonstrated experience in coordinating international workshops, conferences, and capacity-strengthening initiatives
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as a team member
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
