Security Officer - Grade 10 One (1) Position MSU/ADM/SEC/01/22

Requirements for appointment

1. Bachelor’s degree/Higher Diploma in Criminology/Security Science or its equivalent from a
2. recognized institution.
3. Five (5) years relevant cumulative work experience three (3) of which must have been at the level of a Corporal in Police Service/Kenya Defense Forces with a clean discharge certificate.
4. Competency in cyber-crime and digital forensics.
5. Proficiency in relevant computer applications.
6. Duties and Responsibilities
7. Prevention and detection of crime and other security threats;
8. Carry out general administrative duties in the Department;
9. Preparation and submit periodic reports to the management for appropriate decision making;
10. Carry out initial investigations relating to fraud, theft, accident and make necessary reports;
11. Liaise with the duty officer and other law enforcement agencies on any follow up action and assist in investigation relating to matters affecting the University;
12. Ensure effective safety and security measures are maintained in the University;
13. Advise the University Management on safety and security matters;
14. Develop annual budgetary estimates for Security Department;
15. Liaise with duty officer and other law enforcement agencies on behalf of the University; and Any other duty as may be assigned from time to time.
