Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities entail assisting in:
- Allocating work on a day to day basis in the department to ensure optimum human resource utilization in achieving the department’s mandate.
- Conducting periodic patrols in the University to ensure all centers are manned at all times and a tight perimeter maintained.
- Reporting any theft or loss of University property for investigations and further actions taken.
- Ensuring welfare of security staff is addressed such as security uniforms and tools of work are made available for efficient operations while performing their duties.
- Making regular reports on security matters in the University for action to be taken and advice provided by the Senior Management.
- Ensuring security of farm produce and equipment for maximum production and satisfaction to the University community and prevent misuse of farm produce.
- Ensuring security of all visitors of the University and making reports thereof.
- Handling general correspondences for security section in consultation with the Chief Security Officer.
- Making regular security reports on campus security or any incident.
- Handling welfare matters of security staff e.g. uniforms, leave roster, off-duty duty roster, etc.
- Monitoring vehicles movement and assisting the Transport Officer on security of the vehicles e.g. parking places, accidents.
Person specification
For appointment to this post, a candidate must:
- At least four (4) years relevant working experience;
- Have Bachelors Degree in Criminology or Social Order or its equivalent from an accredited and recognized university.
- Be at least 30 years of age.
- Have no criminal record.
- Be a person of high integrity.
- Be physically and medically fit.
- Be computer proficient and conversant with ERP system.
- Have a certificate of good conduct from DCI.
