Senior Accountant at FairChain WorkForce

Location: Nairobi, Kenya (remote collaboration with the Netherlands)
Salary range: USD 800 – 1,000 per month (depending on experience)
Education: CPA-K (Finalist) + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics

Your Role

As a Senior Accountant you will handle the preparatory work for year-end financial statements.
You ensure accounting records are complete and accurate, perform reconciliations and reclassifications, and prepare well-documented financial files ready for compilation in the Netherlands.

You will collaborate directly with Dutch accountants and external clients and be supported by FairChain WorkForce managers to ensure smooth communication and alignment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and complete accounting records (banks, purchases, sales, payroll, etc.)
• Perform reconciliations and adjustments
• Document and structure working papers and financial files
• Prepare trial balances and reclassifications
• Build complete, well-supported files that form the foundation for financial statement compilation

What You Bring

• CPA-K (Finalist) – mandatory
• Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
• 4–5 years of experience at an accounting or audit firm
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Year-end closing
  • Financial reporting (IFRS / GAAP)
  • Reconciliations and adjustments
  • Asset management
  • Financial analysis and budgeting
  • Financial statement preparation
• Experience with ERP systems like Odoo or Quickbooks, and advanced Excel Skills (mandatory)
• Excellent communication skills in English, including client-facing communication
• Team player, independent, efficient, and agile in problem-solving
• Leadership and coaching ability
