    Senior Category & Procurement manager

    About the role

    The Senior Category & Procurement Manager’s main goals are to grow the Average Product Mix (#SKUs per order) across our different customer segments by ensuring the right product mix, availability and pricing; and to do this while making efficient use of resources. You will lead a team of Category managers and procurement associates and work closely with Finance, Sales and the rest of the Supply Chain team.

    Key responsibilities are:

    • Define all daily, weekly and monthly processes for category management and procurement to ensure alignment, speed and efficient use of resources
    • Set the standards for category plans (incl. product portfolio, pricing strategy, promotions, sourcing) and work with category managers to achieve this quality level
    • Improve the procurement cycle and supplier credit facilities so that our inventory working capital requirements reduce significantly
    • Increase the Average Product Mix across all customer segments
    • Set relevant targets for all team members for Average Product Mix, forecasting, Product availability, Gross Margin, etc.. This needs to be specified per customer segment or product category
    • Work with Data & Engineering teams to automate pricing, forecasting and portfolio management
    • Continuously improve the customer proposition from a product perspective to enable GMV and net revenue growth

    Who you are

    In the past year, we have proven demand for our proposition. Now it’s your responsibility to ensure that we customize & improve our offering so that we can scale our sales rapidly. We are looking for someone who has:

    • In-depth knowledge of forecasting & procurement processes, across a wide variety of product types, incl. how to make most efficient use of resources
    • Ability to build a product & pricing strategy for a customer segment
    • Ability to build a large team that strives for excellence and continuously improves
    • Experience building relationships with suppliers for better service, credit and joint promotions
    • Excellent understanding of HoReCa customer segment and their needs
    • Strategic and analytical thinker who can translate overall company strategy into goals per segment/team
    • Excellent data & analytics skills - e.g., understanding key metrics to steer on, building forecasts for sales and margin growth per customer segment, requesting custom dashboards from our data team to improve operations
