About the Role

The overall purpose of this job is to build and maintain the company’s web applications in a scalable and secure way.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Work closely with the User Experience Designer to determine the feasibility of the user experience designs.
• Design the implementation of the user experience to ensure scalability, simplicity and quality.
• Code the design in line with user requirements.
• Testing to ensure the software performs to the expected standards.
• Work closely with the Quality Assurance Engineer to resolve any arising issues such as missing features and bugs.
• Debug reported bugs to ensure the system works as per user requirements.
• Set up tools for use by the Site Reliability Engineer i.e. Instrumentation. 
• Participate in activities that promote continuous learning and value addition for end users. 
• Any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.
• Work with Product Managers to frame a problem, both logically and within the business context.
• Designing and developing advanced Sendy applications for the backend stack
• Participate in the evolution of company level best practices, standards, and policies as it relates to software development.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or other Technology related fields.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in software development and preferably in frontend engineering.
• Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
• Proven working experience in software development
• Knowledge of design principles and SEO principles
• Knowledge of browser troubleshooting and debugging practices and techniques
• Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery
• Knowledge of SEO principles
• Knowledge of graphics software such as Adobe Illustrator
• Experience with responsive and adaptive design
• Ability to grow junior & Mid Level engineers to be senior engineers
• Unit-testing code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
• Maintain code quality, organization, and automatizatio
• Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
• Ability to work effectively with different personalities and across all levels in an organization.
