    Senior Field Events Manager - Sales Events

    Senior Field Events Manager The Senior Field Events Manager reports to Manager, Field Communications and Content.

    Senior Field Events Manager Responsibilities

    • Plan, organize and manage all GitLab Field Sales events, which include: annual Sales Kickoff (SKO), annual President’s Club, Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), Sales Quick Start (onboarding events) and any supplemental / ad hoc Sales events.
    • Proactively manage and strategize all event needs. End-to-end event management, from venue selection, to budget creation and management, to event execution.
    • Work directly with the GitLab Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), CRO Chief of Staff and the Field Leadership team to plan and execute events. This includes sourcing potential event locales, collaborating on event themes and goals, setting high-level event messaging and direction, and administering regular status updates and check-ins.
    • Translate overall event strategy and messaging through the design, logistics, vendor management, budget, execution, and post-event analysis of each event.
    • Project manage Field Events, serving as the ultimate directly responsible individual (DRI) for these events and working cross-functionally with supporting teams including, but not limited to, Field Enablement, Field Communications, Digital Production, Design, and Legal to create event agendas and content that meet event goals and objectives.
    • Identify, maintain, and manage external partners and vendors including event agencies that will be onboarded to support larger Field events, virtual event platforms, and swag vendors. This includes negotiating optimal terms.
    • Establish event goals and budget in partnership with CRO and leadership team: gather and track ROI, engagement analytics, and feedback to consistently assess and implement opportunities for improvement.
    • Develop and deliver post-event follow-up briefings and event retrospectives to drive a culture of iteration and results.

    Senior Field Events Manager Requirements

    • Relevant, progressive experience.
    • Self-sufficient worker capable of managing multiple deadlines with little supervision.
    • Strong executive presence; ability to work directly with C-level executives and VPs to manage expectations and requests.
    • Exemplary project management and decision-making skills.
    • Ability to work smart under pressure and efficiently on multiple project requests simultaneously, and to deal with potential for tight deadlines and unexpected complexities.
    • Very detail-oriented; extremely strong organizational skills with a bias toward action; focused on documentation and follow-up.
    • Exemplary communicator and collaborator; able to work with a variety of teams and personalities, possessing excellent verbal and written communications skills.
    • Proven ability to work with vendors and manage/negotiate favorable contracts.
    • Experience working with agencies and vendors that support with event planning and execution.
    • Flexible work schedule and the availability to travel approximately 25-50% of the time.
    • Ability to use GitLab Ability to travel if needed and comply with the company’s travel policy.
    • If employed by GitLab Federal, LLC, team members need to also comply with the applicable vaccination policies.

    Compensation
    For Colorado residents: The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently $73,900.00 - $134,600.00 for Colorado residents only. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. See more information on our benefits and equity . Sales roles are also eligible for incentive pay targeted at up to 100% of the offered base salary.
