    Senior React (& React Native) Developer - Digital

    • You are customer oriented while keeping performance in mind. You keep an overall view on all components of the applications in the squads portfolio and know how to find the right balance between future-proof solutions and fast-to-market requirements.
    • You have a business drive, passion for technology and are eager to learn. Above all, you have a can-do attitude where you roll up your sleeves and just do it.

    Your Responsibilities

    • Together with the squad, you transform and develop all requirements to an appropriate architecture and solution.
    • Build pixel-perfect, buttery smooth UIs across both mobile and web platforms.
    • Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks for performance that feels native. Our team implements a "you build it, you run it" mindset.
    • Reach out to the open source community to encourage and help implement mission-critical software fixes—React Native moves fast.
    • Maintain code and write automated tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality.
    • Supporting the rebuild of the existing outdated and unsupported web portal and wrapper app into a modern and future proof React web portal / React native mobile app.
    • You have end-to-end responsibility for both the Web and Mobile frontends of our member portal landscape.
    • Formulate & propose improvements, both on technical and functional level.
    • Define technical guidelines.
    • Document the implemented architecture and solution.
    • Deliver quality code, whilst keeping deadlines and business value in mind.
    • Work together in an international, cross-functional squad.
    • Have a proactive role within the development chapter across all IGO/NGO squads.

    General Requirements

    • You have a Bachelor or Master degree in IT.
    • You have excellent knowledge of written and spoken English..
    • You demonstrate strong communication, prioritization, organization and problem solving skills.
    • You have a client oriented, creative and inventive mindset.
    • You are sensitive to cultural differences and you enjoy working in a global, multi-location team.
    • You are able to deal with ambiguity.

    Technical Skills

    • Excellent knowledge of JavaScript, modern CSS, and the DOM.
    • Able to write well-documented and clean TypeScript code.
    • Affinity with maintaining and evolving a codebase to nurture high-quality code.
    • You love the entire React ecosystem when it comes to creating interactive applications.
    • Experience with Next.js or other static site generation/server-side rendered frameworks is a plus.
    • Knowledge of, or interest in, React Native is a huge plus.
    • You're able to use CSS either directly or via a framework to create applications and sites that work on any device.
    • Able to consume REST and GraphQL APIs.
    • Being able to contribute to the codebase of a REST or GraphQL API is a huge plus.
    • Having prior experience in .NET is a huge plus.
    • Experience with headless CMS systems, via GraphQL or an SDK, is a plus. Special bonus if you have experience with DatoCMS
    • Familiar with writing tests for your application: Jest unit tests, component tests with react-test-renderer, or testing-library/react.
    • We focus on creating accessible applications and sites, so knowing how to make your app/site accessible to all users (screen readers, devices with reduced motion or transparency) is a bonus.
    • You use the correct semantic markup to ensure applications work for everyone.
    • Affinity with WCAG guidelines, accessibility testing, and ARIA are a plus.
    • Familiar with one or more modern CI/CD environments: Azure Devops Pipelines, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Circle CI, etc
    • You understand how backends work in Node.js or are even able to contribute.
