We’re looking for a Senior Threat Intelligence Researcher to join our Security (Threat Intelligence) Team. Application Security at M-KOPA provide intelligence on hacking of M-KOPA devices. Your main objective will be to build and operate Threat Intelligence capability for M-KOPA mobile devices.

To achieve this, you’ll be expected to:

• Build a bespoke Threat Intelligence (TI) capability/team
• Manage day-to-day TI reporting for M-KOPA devices
• Provide early warning on the exploitability of relevant hardware chipsets and mobile devices
• Conduct infiltration operations and investigations of known online hacking groups
• Provide a centralized point for technical and fraud teams to predicate increases in fraudulent activity
   

You Might Be A Good Fit If You…

• Experienced in building and managing TI capabilities
• Has infiltrated online hacking groups on the dark web
• Understands Operational Security (OPSEC) and Personal Security (PERSEC) requirements
• Specific experience conducting TI on mobile threats
• Has data analytics knowledge
   

This position will report to the Head of Application Security and can be based anywhere where possible to work within a time zone -1/+3 hours UTC. We can offer a full-time permanent contract of employment to candidates’ resident in the UK, Kenya, Uganda or Nigeria, where our offices are based, together with a competitive salary (dependent on skills and experience), company bonus (dependent on company performance and OKRs), and a range of company benefits. For applicants who are resident in countries outside of where our offices are based, we can offer a 3 year consultancy contract, together with a freelance daily rate and an annual bonus incentive].
