Shift-In-Charge/ Machine Operator at Bridge Talent Management

Job Summary

The Shift In-Charge will oversee the safe, efficient, and consistent operation of CPP Cast Film and Stretch Film extrusion lines during an assigned production shift. The role requires a technically minded individual with a strong interest in industrial machinery, manufacturing, and technical problem-solving.

Previous experience in CPP or Stretch Film production is not mandatory. However, the successful candidate should have strong technical aptitude, logical problem-solving ability, willingness to learn, and the ability to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate CPP Cast Film and Stretch Film extrusion lines, including start-up, changeovers, production, and shutdown procedures.
• Monitor machine parameters such as temperature, pressure, speed, dosing, cooling, and winding.
• Ensure production follows schedules, specifications, and approved formulations.
• Monitor production output, machine efficiency, waste, and downtime.
• Conduct basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and escalate complex issues to maintenance teams.
• Monitor machine alarms, identify abnormal operating conditions, and record faults and corrective actions.
• Support quality checks including film thickness/micron, width, roll weight, winding quality, and appearance.
• Ensure off-specification or rejected products are properly identified and segregated.
• Supervise operators, assistants, and helpers during assigned shifts.
• Allocate duties and ensure adherence to production procedures, discipline, safety, and housekeeping standards.
• Maintain accurate production and shift records covering output, waste, downtime, machine faults, and quality issues.
• Conduct clear shift handovers and communicate outstanding production, machine, or quality issues.
• Follow and enforce machine safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Work closely with maintenance and production teams to resolve equipment and process issues.
• Maintain a good understanding of extrusion equipment, including extruders, motors, drives, heaters, sensors, pumps, cooling, and winding systems.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing/Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Polymer/Plastics Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Previous work experience is not mandatory; recent graduates with strong technical aptitude are encouraged to apply.
• Previous exposure to plastic extrusion, cast film, blown film, stretch film, industrial machinery, PLC-controlled equipment, motors and drives, or industrial maintenance is an added advantage.
• Industrial attachment, internship, or academic project experience involving machinery, manufacturing, automation, or maintenance will be considered.
• Willingness to work shifts, including night shifts where required.
