Role Description

• We are seeking a skilled, professional, and patient-focused Sonographer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for independently performing ultrasound examinations, ensuring accurate diagnostic imaging, and maintaining a high standard of patient care throughout the imaging process.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently perform ultrasound examinations in accordance with established clinical and professional standards.
• Operate ultrasound equipment effectively to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
• Ensure patient comfort, safety, privacy, and appropriate positioning throughout examinations.
• Obtain accurate and diagnostically useful images for interpretation by the radiologist or relevant clinician.
• Review examination requests and relevant clinical information before performing procedures.
• Explain ultrasound procedures clearly to patients and provide appropriate guidance and reassurance.
• Maintain accurate patient and examination records.
• Work collaboratively with radiologists, clinicians, and other members of the imaging team.
• Ensure ultrasound equipment is used appropriately and report any technical faults or issues promptly.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional imaging environment.
• Adhere to applicable clinical, professional, infection prevention, and patient safety standards.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and maintain consistently high standards of diagnostic imaging.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Radiography or an equivalent qualification.
• Relevant professional registration/licensing as required.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience working in a busy diagnostic imaging environment.
