    Sourcing Coordinator

    Agricycle Global 

    Agricycle closes the gap between smallholders in developing economies and global markets by democratizing access to the agricultural value chain through our distributed network and portfolio of upcycled ingredients. Agricycle is a for-profit benefit corporation and startup, meaning we operate in a fast-moving environment to disrupt the status quo and create social, economic and environmental impact.

    Overview: Sourcing Coordinator

    As our Sourcing Lead, you will report to the COO in conjunction with the Director of EA while also working closely with the sourcing team. You will lead Agricycle’s sourcing intelligence to grow our network of smallholder farmers and coordinate the supply, negotiation and purchasing of a wide range of over 200 ingredients.

    Using your analytical and strategic skills, you will strengthen Agricycle’s supply chain to provide reliability and widen our benefit. You will coordinate a robust database of smallholder farmers to facilitate this.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead Agricycle’s sourcing intelligence in EA and map all agricultural activities in EA countries.
    • Communicate to the sourcing team in EA for sourcing requests from outside buyers with immediacy.
    • Identify and evaluate sources for over 200 ingredients from smallholder farmers across EU Countries.
    • Direct Sourcing Officers to train FLs on purchase of ingredients from evaluated smallholders.
    • Enforce procurement policies and procedures while negotiating supplier relationships.
    • Develop innovative ways to minimize supply risks with smallholder farmers in Agricycle’s network.
    • Coordinate a robust database of producers alongside qualifications, prices, volume, lead times, etc.
    • Analyze the database and develop action plans to reduce costs and improve sourcing processes.
    • Collaborate with Agricycle’s global team across sales, operations and impact on a regular basis.
    • Any other reasonable responsibility given by supervising team members.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable experience in sourcing or procurement in agriculture.
    • University degree or advanced work experience in procurement, supply chain management, agriculture, logistics, project management or other related fields.
    • Good communication skills (both written and oral); good command of English is favorable.
    • Demonstrated compassion and empathy, strong work ethic and unimpeachable integrity.
    • Readiness and ability to regularly perform under pressure and within short timeframes.
    • Readiness to travel anywhere in Uganda under short notices and occasionally work odd hours.
    • Excellent working knowledge of computer applications, especially: gmail and spreadsheets.
