Supply Chain Officer at Emining Technical Training Institute

Job Summary:

• We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Supply Chain Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement, storage, distribution, and inventory control of goods and services within the institution. The role will require excellent organizational, negotiation, and communication skills to ensure a smooth supply chain process that meets institutional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement efficient supply chain management strategies that align with the institution's objectives.
• Oversee the procurement process, including sourcing suppliers, obtaining quotes, and negotiating terms.
• Manage inventory levels and ensure timely restocking of essential supplies and materials.
• Coordinate the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods and services within the institution.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and institutional policies related to procurement and supply chain activities.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring reliable and cost-effective services.
• Monitor and evaluate supplier performance and conduct regular audits to ensure optimal supply chain operations.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to procurement and inventory management.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, or a related field from a recognized institution.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain management or procurement, preferably within an educational or public institution.
• Professional certifications in supply chain management (e.g., CIPS, KISM) will be an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of procurement laws, regulations, and best practices in Kenya.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power management software.
