Sr. Internal Auditor at Food for the Hungry (FH Kenya)

A successful candidate will have the following: 

FH is seeking an experienced Sr. Internal Auditor professional to evaluate internal control activities of field offices and our global service center. The qualified candidate will have 4 years of external or internal audit experience (performance of fraud investigations is a plus), a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, internal audit, compliance, risk management, or similar area. Certification is strongly preferred, such as CIA, CPA, CFE or related certifications, and: 

• A vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a Christian commitment to serving the poor, and in full agreement with FH’s Christian beliefs.
• General awareness of the Institute of Internal Auditors’ Global Internal Audit Standards.
• Ability to assess business risks and recognize red flags for fraud in a global organization.
• Strong intercultural communication skills, able to acclimate to the various national environments in which FH operates.
• High integrity and a strong sense of professional ethics.
• General awareness of risk management and compliance processes and practices.
• Ability to perform compliance reviews and develop a system that ensures effective compliance with donor and country regulations.
• Basic understanding of an organizational strategic planning process.
• Experience with US Government regulations is a plus, such as the 2 CFR 200, as well as other multinational and private donor regulations.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English; Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus.
• Ability to write professional reports and business correspondence succinctly
• Ability to travel up to 15% of time domestically and internationally, to insecure countries or locations.
