    Strategic Communications Assistant

    Role overview

    • You are committed to Africa? You are an experienced advocate for African led conservation and development? You are passionate about biodiversity, partnerships with government institutions, development actors and businesses that leave none behind? Then this is for you!
    • The Strategic Communications and Marketing Assistant will provide administrative and logistical support to the Brand and Public Engagement team. This position will be based at AWF HQ, Nairobi, Kenya. They will report to Manager, Strategic Communications and Marketing.  

     Responsibilities

    • Provide administrative support to the Brand and Public Engagement team.
    • Act as the liaison between the Brand and Public Engagement team and the Administration, Procurement, and Finance teams and ensure the team is compliant with AWF processes and procedures.
    • Provide general administration support where needed including but not limited to organizing workshops, webinars, seminars, exhibitions, logistics, and other events.
    • Provide support to the policy team program to create detailed event plans, materials, and post-event reports for project workshops, conferences, and high-level meetings.
    • Work with the Strategic Communications Manager to support executing communications strategies for the policy program.
    • Assist the team in the creation of custom media engagement plans, press releases, media reports, and documented media coverage.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

     Requirement and Skills

    • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field
    • At least two years of working experience in a related field.  
    • Strong administrative and organizational skills  
    • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail. 
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and time management skills. 
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • High attention to detail.
    • Demonstrated experience in successful event planning.
