Structural Steel Detailer at Safal Group

Main purpose of the position:

Reporting to the Design Manager, the post holder will be responsible for the effective interpretation of design details and translating them to general arrangement drawings and ultimately shop drawings based on the stipulated procedures and as per acceptable standards.

Key responsibilities:

• Read Structural and Architectural drawings, Design details and schedules
• Generate General Arrangement Drawings based on Design input
• Prepare Drawings submittals
• Update detailing Models and drawings          
• Apply basics of Steel detailing & construction and make decisions based on the best interest of the company
• Coordinate with other Detailers as needed
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Requirements

Qualifications required:     

• Diploma or Certificate in Civil/Structural Draughtsmanship.
• Qualifications as an added advantage: Degree in Civil or Structural
• Professional registration: IEK/EBK

Experience required: 

• General work experience (years): 3 - 5 years’ experience in detailing and checking Structural steelwork drawings for Industrial and Residential buildings in AutoCAD and/or TEKLA.
• Specific to the position (level/discipline/years): 2Years in steel detailing
• Industry-Steel, Engineering, Building of Construction
• Good knowledge of Structural detailing processes and procedures in a steel fabrication company.
• Knowledge in estimation and quantity take-offs will be an added advantage.
