Tax and Stats Manager at Haleon

Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities:

The T&S manager will be the key contact for tax and stats activities for the Kenya market. They will work with wider Finance/P2P/Finance Director to ensure tax and stats compliance is performed effectively. 

Key responsibilities & Deliverables:

Tax & Statutory activities

•  Responsible for preparation of all tax and statutory compliance deliverables   (VAT/Corporate tax/Statutory Accounts/Group tax Reporting/Oversight of Operational Transfer Pricing)
• Be a tax partner to business including legal entity structure, products and business change with support from advisors where necessary.
• Providing support to the Tax & Stats GPO projects team
• Act as a key point of contact for local tax authorities and handles all tax audits & filings not outsourced
• Coordinates and manages relationships with outsourced tax consultants and wider Global Tax Haleon team
• Preparation and lead delivery of training in relation to Tax matters
• Work with Global tax Costa Rica team, regional Global Tax contacts, as well as FD to deliver operational transfer pricing activities
• Coordinate and work with external consultants as required for TP Doc process
• Responsible for delivery of Group tax reporting process and tax packs
• Responsible for delivery of all Statutory Accounts, as well as end to end audit coordination with Statutory Auditors in market
• Key point of contact for Financial Statement delivery, including coordination with FC/FD/wider finance teams/P2P
• To be consulting Point Of Contact for VAT/WHT coding of invoices for Genpact/P2P as required
• Consider the difficulty of the problems and the extent to which judgement and analysis to fully comply with the company’s polices/standards, and the laws and regulations.
• Ensure all business activities comply with relevant Global SOPs , local laws and of high ethical standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• Strong systems and analytical skills;
• Knowledge of local Tax and Stats requirements (preferably a qualified Accountant)
• Highly organized with the ability to complete multi-tasks in a timely manner
• High attention to detail, proficient in Microsoft Office packages
• Supervisor/Manager experience is required and a strong team player
• Knowledge of accounting treatment and basic taxation
• ERP experience is preferred
• 4-5 years in tax practicing and payable management experience are preferred
• Good understanding of controls and compliance requirements
• Ability to effectively manage time and resources against agreed deadlines for Tax & Statutory deadlines
