    Team Member, Operational Risk Management

    Job Role

    The job holder will be responsible for minimizing risk of loss by defining and ensuring compliance with the approved risk management framework and processes for identification, controlling, managing and reporting operational risk. He/she will support in the Implementation of strategies for identifying critical business processes and outsourcing strategies that takes into account the Bank’s operational risk profile.
    Functions & Responsibilities

    1. Carry out risk grading of branches and administer Control Risk Self-Assessment across units in the Bank
    2. New product and process review and effect process reviews to reduce cost
    3. Documentation of the occurrence of operational risk events in the Bank
    4. Effect monthly and quarterly review of call-over exceptions.
    5. Incident investigation of operational risk issues
    6. Deploy initiatives to reduce incidence of income reversals in the Bank
    7. Maintain and analyze internal and external loss database
    8. Implementation of strategies for identifying critical business processes and recovery strategy for critical business processes
    9. Implementation of detailed emergency response and operational activities
    10. Pro-actively identify and develop continuous improvement opportunities
    11. Rollout of recovery and crisis management plans
    12. Implement techniques & methods of training, testing & maintaining business recovery plans
    13. Participate in other responsibilities assigned by the Unit Head

    Requirements

    • Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
      1. Knowledge of operational risk best practices
      2. Advanced knowledge of operational risk measurement methodologies
      3. Banking Operations (Domestic & International Operations)
      4. Credit Analysis / Appraisal
      5. Environmental / Industry Analysis
      6. Investment / Portfolio Management
      7. Assets & Liabilities Management
      8. Financial analysis / interpretation
      9. TQM
      10. Documentation

    Qualification

    1. A Bachelor's degree in Economics or Social Sciences from a reputable and recognized University.
    2. Professional Membership
    3. Recognized professional certification such as CPA, IT Certifications etc.

    Experience

    1. Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in risk management within the Financial Services Industry
