    Purpose of the Job

    Ensure Growth, Retention, Servicing, and Administration of Retail and SME Business at Minet Kenya. The resource should fit in well with the company’s strategic goal of growing its Retail & SME book in the insurance lines of Motor, Medical, Life, Pensions, Home Insurance,

    Property Insurance, Personal Accident, Travel Insurance and all insurance lines Minet distributes to its Retail & SME clients.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Roles and Responsibilities

    New Business & Organic Growth

    1. Meet the unit’s annual target in brokerage income for new business.
    2. Preparation of competent proposals / quotations / presentations to prospect clients
    3. Provide consultancy to clients to aid the client make a decision
    4. Demonstrate broking excellence and thorough knowledge of our product offerings to clients.


    Responsible for the prompt administration of policies:

    • Underwriting process
    • Database management; Maintain and update database of clients;
    • Membership packs / cards, certificate, risk note dispatched to clients.
    • Income booking on the financial system and accurately with the correct commission booked

    Credit Control

    c) Servicing

    • Acknowledge to clients queries / complaints, respond with a solution.
    • Courtesy calls/emails to individual clients

    Technical competence

    1. Demonstrate high end and qualitative broking skills on Retail & SME products.
    2. Demonstrate ability to interpret financial and technical proposals to clients
    3. Develop Analytical skills
    4. Market trends
    5. Foster Insurer relationships
    6. Gather Market Intelligence at all times on renewals and new business acquisition
      1. Any other duty as may be requested by supervisor

    Knowledge and Skills Required

    The job holder must possess:

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business related field
    • Diploma in Insurance
    • At least 2+ years’ experience in relevant field
    • Communication skills
    • Detail oriented
    • Interpersonal skills
    • Microsoft Excel competency
