Professional Requirements

• Must possess Diploma or its equivalent qualification in a technical field
• Must have at least three (3) years relevant work experience at Grade 6N or comparable position
• Must provide evidence of computer literacy

Duties and responsibilities

• Carry out practical training in line with the requirement of the Merchant Shipping (Training & Certification) Regulations 2016 and the table of competencies in the Seafarers Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) Code 1978, as amended,
• Cleaning of apparatus machinery and equipment for teaching and research
• Dusting of all equipment used for teaching and research
• Ensuring safe storage of chemicals/Marine paints/lubricants/fuels.
• Ensure disposal of laboratory and workshop wastes according to the required standards and requirements of the MARPOL convention 1973/78
• Ensuring safety and security of lab apparatus and equipment
• Carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time
