Trachoma Dossier Consultancy at Sightsavers

OBJECTIVES

• To collect all relevant information necessary for completing the WHO dossier template
• To complete the trachoma dossier under the leadership of the national Dossier Committee for submission to WHO

DELIVERABLES

• Study the dossier template provided by WHO to identify the information needs
• Link up with appropriate Government Ministries/departments, collaborating INGOs, agencies, counties, persons, and members of the Trachoma Elimination Committee, to obtain the information needed for completing the dossier.
• Ensure periodic data collection and update of the draft write-up up to the time of submission of the dossier
• Organize for easy retrieval and referencing, copies of information or data used for the development of the dossier.
• Convene monthly (and in future half yearly) progress meetings with the Trachoma Elimination Dossier Committee
• Share the first draft of the dossier with the Trachoma Elimination Committee by 31 March 2023
• Lead the update of Dossier following iterative feedback by the external Dossier review team (WHO and Sightsavers internal review team)
• Complete final copy of the dossier by 30 April 2023
• Provide a complete bibliography for the dossier

CONSULTANT CHARACTERISTICS

The ideal consultancy(s) for this position will meet the following criteria:

• Excellent communication both spoken and written
• First Class interpersonal skills
• A proven work background in Neglected Tropical Diseases work, preferably trachoma
• Demonstrable ability to work with diverse professionals in the health sector
• Extensive knowledge of the Kenya Trachoma Elimination Programme, an advantage.
• Awareness of WHO trachoma documents and guidelines
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Availability to travel across 12 endemic counties as and when required
