    Human Resource Consultant

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Managing all HR functions for the organization including problem solving.
    • Developing, revising, and supporting the CEO to develop systems, policies, and procedures for implementing robust HR policies and procedures.
    • Supporting the CEO in managing organizational Governance, including facilitating Board functions.
    • Advising management on the administration and implementation of HR policies & procedures.
    • Analyzing Uthabiti’s current HR programmes and recommending solutions.
    • Ensuring HR programs and services are in compliance with established policies and procedures and Kenya labour laws and regulations.
    • Maintaining knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
    • Preparing and maintaining reports related to specific HR matters
    • Promoting HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
    • Managing consultants from recruitment to contract closure
    • Assisting with the development and coordination of recommended changes regarding workflow
    • Managing the recruitment processes, collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.2
    • Conducting or acquiring background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
    • Providing support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise
    • Developing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and assist with performance evaluation.
    • Supporting the CEO in the development of an effective results-based HR performance management system, including reporting
    • Provide guidance to the CEO and senior management on key issues including staff benefits
    • Performing routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
    • Planning for staff capacity-building opportunities
    • Bringing to the attention of CEOs any HR issues that require attention
    • Supervision of staff as may be agreed from time to time
    • Assisting the CEO with governance of board matters.
    • Performing other duties as may be necessary from time to time.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS
    Education

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences or similar relevant field. A relevant Diploma with an on-going degree cour
    • Professional Human Resources qualification e.g. CHRP)
    • Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Ms Word, Ms Excel, Ms Powerpoint and/or relevant system/sofstware

    Other Job Requirements

    • 3-5 years practical HR management experience
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
    • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
    • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
    • Relevant work experience with a recognized organization
    • Membership with recognized professional Human Resources body e.g. IHRM
