Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician at Ampersand E-mobility Limited

About the role

Ampersand is seeking a Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician who can deliver exceptional customer service in e-moto repair. He/She will be working directly with the Lead of the service hub and he/she will be responsible for troubleshooting and fixing of mechanical and electrical issues.This team member will need to be an exceptional mechanic, a clear communicator, team player, and flexible contributor. The Vehicle technician will report to the Aftercare Team Lead and be responsible for the following:

In this role, you will hold the following responsibilities:

• Troubleshooting and fixing of mechanical and electrical issues
• Support the Aftercare Team Lead to implement Standard Operating Procedures
• Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work area including tools
• Delivering excellent customer service in E-Moto repair
• Prioritize the customer to keep them on the road and earning income for their families
• Be fully accountable for the speed and quality of work in repairing customer vehicles
• Manage the diagnosis of underlying issues affecting customer vehicles
• Work closely with the Aftercare Team Lead to provide clear and honest information to the customer on the status of their repair
• In addition to customer service work, you may be required to support in vehicle assembly and work in fabrication of tools, vehicle parts, or equipment

Minimum requirements

For this role specifically, you will have:

• Graduate with a technical/engineering degree
• Ability to balance multiple tasks while working under pressure with close attention to details, accuracy and quality at all times
• Ability to establish customer relation
• Good verbal and written communication in English and Swahili
• Experience working in a team
• 3+ years’ experience in an assembly, or as a mechanic
• Vehicle or battery experience a bonus
• Strong demonstrated mechanical intuition
• Diligent and proactive in approach to work
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
