VIMS - Core Solution Engineer at Nokia

General Purpose 

• Proactively plans and performs advanced technical activities requiring knowledge in multiple areas or on a system level providing excellent Services to the customer.  
• Prioritizes work based on customer and business impact and brings expertise to customer site on need basis. 
• Passionate in Service of the Business and learning new technologies 

Main Responsibility Area 

• Perform Installation, Integration, Acceptance testing, Troubleshooting, Operations & Maintenance, and any ongoing modification (including upgrades) & configuration changes to the Nokia’s IMS / CFX5000, NTAS, SBC, MRF and other IMS Subsystems.  
• Perform diagnostic troubleshooting and provide technical support assistance to Nokia Customers  
• Cooperation with other engineering teams for troubleshooting, configurations, and horizontal integrations  
• Prepare the LLD and assist the Domain and E2E Architects with any design related tasks or discussions 
• Develop service documentation and procedures 
• Perform first installs of new software, upgrades, and hardware expansions 
• Perform system integration and regression tests 
• Should be passionate about troubleshooting issues, thinking out of the box when it comes to problem solving 
• Contribute to the creation of common artifacts and tools for usage by the Solution Engineering community and lead knowledge transfer and ramp up 
• Lead your own competence development and contribute to the Nokia Knowledge Hubs aka. Communities of Practice  
• Interaction with Customer and Partners 
• Oncall / Emergency Support for Customers when necessary 

 Additional Requirements  

• Delivered at least three IMS/CFX, NTAS, SBC, MRF Projects in the recent past with Nokia 
• Proven experience in IMS/VoLTE (preferably Nokia & 5 years or more) 
• Candidates with end to end experience in IMS will be a highly preferred  
• Ideal candidate should have experience in Cloud Computing 
• Good working knowledge of UNIX or Linux Operating Systems.  
• Good working knowledge of TCP / IP 
• Good knowledge of VoIP protocols (SIP/RTP/MGCP)  
• Experience in Programming languages (preferably Java) 
• Experience in Scripting Languages (Python, Perl, Bash, etc.)  
• Previous Integration & Operation experience and related wireless and test equipment knowledge 
• Strong and demonstrated troubleshooting skills and abilities to debug and reproduce hardware, software, and networking problems including network performance and interoperability issues  
• Experience of integration with OSS is highly desirable  
• Knowledge of GSM and/or LTE networks highly desirable 
• Hands-on experience with operating protocol analysers 
• Working knowledge of SQL and Relational databases highly desirable  
• Independent work ethics 
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills 
• The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of experience in GSM mobile switching of any vendor and excellent mobile telephony knowledge 
• Engineer graduated in Telecommunications, IT or Electronic Engineering
