    Finance System and Operations Analyst

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain Finance Software, Data Systems and Processes
    • Maintain the integrity and consistency of VSO's financial data systems, including:
    • Maintenance of user accounts on the Finance Remote Desktop Service (RDS), in accordance with staff changes and agreed permissions assigned to roles,
    • Maintenance of static data and system parameters on VSO's finance systems,
    • Maintenance of finance system consolidations and reporting capability using ETL / SQL technology.
    • Support the Finance Systems Manager with key finance system processes such as budgeting, month-end, and year-end procedures.
    • Be a point of contact for technical problems and queries on the Finance RDS, resolving where possible and following up with VSO's SUN support provider and the Finance Systems Manager where required.
    • Process documentation

    Develop and maintain templates for processing (and for reporting).

    • Support the Finance Systems Manager to ensure VSO-specific user documentation for the finance system is kept up to date.
    • Where required provide system administrator support to other finance related systems such as banking and FX platforms.
    • Support the Finance Systems Manager in the administration and coordination of Global Finance's SharePoint site, ensuring effective organisation and maintenance of consistency/cohesion.
    • Country Statutory audits and tax/local compliance

    Support the Finance Operations Manager to ensure internal and external audit recommendations are fully implemented on a timely basis and that global compliance with all local laws and regulations is maintained.

    • Conduct Country Office health checks during field support visits flagging any non-compliance areas.
    • Capacity Building & Finance knowledge sharing
    • Coach and support global finance teams so they understand and follow VSO's Finance procedures and policies. Develop the wider Finance team's skills particularly usage of the IT systems.
    • Pursue global consistency and continuous improvement in financial controls, policies and procedures.
    • Other ad hoc responsibilities.

    Desired Skills and Experience

    • The ideal candidate should be a fully qualified accountant with a recognised qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA, CPA or similar). He/she should have strong technical accounting skills, especially in relation to statutory accounting, financial assurance and balance sheet management and posses Strong finance systems skills, including Excel, accounting and reporting packages, particularly:
    • Experience of SUN 5.4 or higher systems administration, including User Manager and system structures.
    • Infor Q&A, including Report Designer know-how
    • Understanding of working with Remote Desktop Services..
