Warehousing & Logistics Manager at Ilara Health

The Role

As the Warehousing and Logistics Manager for Ilara Health's Medicines supply business, you will be responsible for the efficient and timely delivery of medicines and healthcare supplies to our network of primary healthcare clinics across Africa. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the end-to-end warehousing and logistics operations, ensuring operational excellence and customer satisfaction. You will collaborate closely with various internal teams to optimize supply chain operations, maintain inventory accuracy, and deliver a seamless experience for our customers.

Responsibilities

Logistics and Supply Chain Management:

• Oversee the end-to-end logistics and supply chain operations, including warehousing, inventory management, and distribution.
• Optimize transportation routes and modes to minimize costs and delivery lead times.
• Implement robust inventory management practices to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing the risk of stockouts or overstocking.

Last-Mile Delivery Management:

• Establish and manage a network of last-mile delivery partners across Africa, ensuring reliable and cost-effective delivery services.
• Monitor and optimize last-mile delivery operations, including route planning, driver management, and tracking.
• Collaborate with technology teams to implement delivery tracking systems and provide real-time visibility to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Continuously improve last-mile delivery processes to enhance delivery speed, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

• Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and evaluate warehousing and logistics operations.
• Generate regular reports on warehousing and logistics performance, highlighting areas of success and improvement opportunities.
• Conduct root cause analysis to identify the reasons behind operational issues and implement corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in supply chain management, logistics, or warehousing, preferably within the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles, logistics coordination, and warehousing practices.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to medicines and healthcare products.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
• Proficiency in using supply chain management and logistics software and tools.
