- Master’s degree in any of the following fields: Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Minimum twelve (12) years in relevant work experience with at least five (5) years in a management role.
- Certified Public Accountants CPA (K) or Association of Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA) or its equivalent professional accounting certification.
- Registered with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) or an equivalent professional body in good standing;
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, Government Accounting Standards and other relevant regulatory frameworks
- Experience with ERP financial modules and report automation.

- Provide leadership in the development and implementation of Geothermal Developments’ strategies, policies, and procedures to achieve KenGen's strategic objectives.
- Coordinate and oversee the following divisions: Reservoir and Steam field management; Drilling and Logistics; Civil and Infrastructure, and Resource Assessment and Development.
- Oversee sustainability of KenGen’s power generation through geothermal reservoir optimization and steam availability.

A person shall qualify for appointment as a Chief Executive Officer, if such person—
- Holds a degree in the relevant field from a university recognized in Kenya;
- Has at least ten (10) years work experience in a relevant field;
- Has served in a position of senior management for a period of at least five (5) years; and
- Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
