    Data Assistants

    REF No DATA/ASST/ARPA/07/2022 

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    1. Perform standard data processing tasks including data input, data cleaning and reporting.
    2. Work closely with county department of health to ensure all clients and the general population are screened at the high-volume facilities for eligibility for COVID-19 vaccination.
    3. Collect and capture all data in paper and electronic databases as guided, support the vaccination teams and demand creation teams to ensure the COVID-19 Vaccination Assessment Form is completed.
    4. Work closely with the technical officers and the County Health Promotion Officers to collect and capture all data related to mobilization of the community towards COVID-19 vaccination through media, outreaches and any other social gatherings.
    5. Work with sub-county, health facilities and community units to anticipate and mitigate on the risks to achievement of the COVID-19 vaccination
    6. Actively support and participate in weekly, monthly meetings at facility, community level and sub-county level.
    7. Work with sub-county teams to perform DQAs and provide feedback on data quality.
    8. Ensure proper storage of data for ease retrieval, be custodian of any hardcopy/soft copy data tools developed to capture COVID-19 data at program level and ensure high standards of safety and confidentiality is maintained.
    9. Work with facility staff and Sub-County HRIOs to ensure timely entry/capture of COVID-19 data.
    10. Provide daily, weekly and monthly summaries/reports of data collected to the MEAL Officer and APRA program officer to facilitate donor reporting requirements.
    11. Any other duties assigned from time to time by the supervisor.

    Required Qualifications and Experience:

    • Diploma holders in relevant fields; those with higher qualifications and experience in program implementation or research will be highly desirable
    • At least one year experience in data collection and research in community and health facility setting.
    • Working knowledge of digital data collection and reporting platforms and any COVID-19 databases.
    • Excellent analytic and computer skills; skilled in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills as well as good judgment and vision
    • Excellent organizational skills, team work and ability to prioritize tasks in a timely manner
    • Sound coordination skills and a demonstrated ability to multi-task
    • Demonstrates diplomacy, flexibility, and resourcefulness
    • Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
    • Demonstrated ability to work with and in teams.

    Project Coordinator

    REF NO: PC/ARPA/07/2022 

    KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES.

    • Coordinate and support the technical aspects in implementation of ARPA project activities in Mombasa County, ensure strong linkages with respective County Department of Health and other key stakeholders.
    • Provide timely inputs to ARPA USAID Tujitegemee project planning, monitoring, reporting, and budgeting processes.
    • Support project staff and partners in developing project work plans and technical guidance and procedure documents as necessary.
    • Monitor populations reached from vaccine demand creation activities, provide guidance in increasing vaccine reach to wider populations.
    • Assess project implementation progress and map accelerated activities.
    • Lead in the identification, adaptation, and implementation of the various social behavior change and communication strategies towards COVID 19 vaccination uptake
    • Support regular meetings and the development of products  to increase COVID-19 demand creation.
    • Support the roll out and dissemination of updated guidance, standard operating procedures, and other IEC materials to facilitate COVID 19 awareness and vaccine uptake.
    • Strengthen relationship and coordination with county departments of health.
    • Ensure a culture of accountability and learning through regular monitoring to project sites, providing oversight of studies and assessments and proper documentation of tools and to contribute to learning.  Contribute to better the existing platform for monitoring, information management, and reporting systems that provide information for reporting and project improvement.

    ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION.

    • Bachelors’ degree in relevant health-related discipline or Social Sciences.
    • At least 5 years of direct experience providing technical assistance on routine immunization at the national or sub-national level in Kenya.
    • Proven experience in management of donor funds and implementation of activities.
    • Proven experience in managing multiple stakeholders to advance vaccine related policy, programming, and decision-making
    • Experience working with USG rules and regulations is highly desirable.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Autonomy, sense of initiative and anticipation, good ability to solve problems.
    • Ability to self-manage and prioritize issues.
    • Have a global knowledge of donor rules and particularly the knowledge and operation of USAID.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with government representatives, for-profit private sector entities, local community organizations, donors and other stakeholders, particularly at the sub-national level.
    • Having a perfect knowledge of English and Kiswahili is an asset.
    • Technical writing skills.
    • Digital/IT competencies required, e.g., MS office suite, internet-based collaboration tools, social media.
